Harka turned out to be a relaxed, caring and social guide

When my father and I met Harka it immidiately felt right. In the ten days that followed after our first meeting, Harka turned out to be a relaxed, caring and social guide with a lot of knowledge of Nepali nature, culture and people. But his good sence of humour and the willingness to adept the trekking to our needs and wishes, makes Harka a guide we will never forget.

I came with my boss to Nepal in April 2010 for an amazing 2 1/2 week break from work. As we only had a small amount of time we decided to do a small portion of the Annapurna. From the moment we met Harka we felt totaly comfortable with his ability as a guide and very impressed with how genuinely caring and thoughtful he was.

He was very knowledgeable and patient and happy to answer all of our questions. In the short amount of time we had to get to know Harker we feel we have definitely found a good friend. Harka made our trekking experience very memorable and I would definitely recommend him to everyone.

In October 2007 we did the Annapurna trek with Harka, which was a fantastic experience. In 20 days Harka guided us from one magnificent place to the other. During the trek Harka provided us with a lot of information about the region and the people we met. Harka’s experience made it a challenigng but safe and feasible trek, by keeping the pace to a level that suited our physical condition. In the evening we rested and played many card games with Harka surrounded by the worlds highest peaks, drinking tea and eating cookies. It was an unforgettable experience, which we will cherish for the rest of our lives.

We met Harka in September 2010. He was going to be our trekking guide up to Annapurna Base Camp... and he was MORE than that! He became a good friend! He is patient (he kept us going all the way up to ABC!), kind, knowledgeable, and has a real love for sharing his culture and exchanging thoughts life! We had some inspiring chats. He cares about his people, he has a heart of gold. WE would trek with him again forever, and more than that, we are still in touch because he did become one very good friend and we wish him all the best for his life. My name is Silvia and I live in Brazil. I made my first trekking last year with Harka. I was so happy with Harka that this year I came back and made two more. We did the Anapurna Sanctuary again and the Ganesh Hamill mountain.

As I am 63,for me was beeng the first time a great challenge and I guess for him also. We had a great time, it was wonderful.
Harka is very concious and care about you, your food, your limits and your happyness.

My husband and I spent our honeymoon trekking to Annapurna Base Camp and Harka was our guide. We were so pleased to have Harka as he was the perfect guide for us. Naturally he has excellent knowledge and always gently guided us into the correct decision. We were quite worried about spending so much time with someone we didn´t know. But Harka had the magic ability to know when to leave us in peace and when to spend time with us. He was very gentlemanly, with perfect manners and as I said an innate ability to know what to do. He wasn´t too distant nor too friendly. We did see other guides who didn´t get this balance right and who if they had been with us would have affected our trip for the worse. Harka was just perfect for us and I would recommend him to anyone.

I met Harka while trekking in the Khumbu region.

My partner and I (who were trekking alone towards EBC) quickly became frients with Harka and his client.

Our paths crossed many times that trip, both on our way in and back out of the valley.Every encounter with Harka was an experience to remember.

He is a jokester, a teacher and a good friend. He was always willing to lend a hand and share information and stories, even though we were not his clients.
I look forward to visiting with Harka on my next visit to Nepal.

When I travelled to Nepal in 2005 I and my previous partner were lucky enough to have Harka as our guide. His excellent sense of humour and undoubted skill and experience as a guide made the trip unforgettable – the trekking was always within our capabilities but challenging enough to allow a sense of achievement at the end of the day. His local knowledge and kind friendly approach has left me longing to return to Nepal…. hopefully soon….

I first met Harka when i travelled to Nepal a couple of years ago and he took myself and my former partner on a short trek in the Dhampuss and Sarangkot region. I have to say it was one of the most memorable experiences in an excellent trip. Kind, friendly and knowlegable, Harka is a great guide who I would thoroughly recommend to anyone. Nothing is too much trouble with itinerary adapted to your individual needs
